For several years now the Morgenland Festival Osnabrück has offered young people the chance to work together with musicians from the Festival. The core of these activities is the annual Morgenland Academy. The Ensemble of the Morgenland Youngsters is made up of motivated Academy participants. The young musicians will take part in a week-long workshop, coached by the accordionist and music producer Manfred Leuchter, and will create a programme of their own music. The Youngsters will present the results as a ‘pre-concert warm-up band’ for the final concert.

A quite remarkable trio will round up the Festival programme: The German-Afghani jazz singer, Simin Tander encounters the Lebanese singer Rabih Lahoud and the jazz pianist Florian Weber. Although the three highly renowned musicians have all developed their own distinctive personal styles, they are always searching for surprising impulses from other music cultures and a free musical communication. This performance in Osnabrück is the first joint project for these three exceptional musicians.
