DJ Ipek a.k.a. Ipek Ipekçioğlu is an internationally successful and award-winning Berlin-based DJ, producer, curator and queer activist. Known for her Anatolian remixes, edits and electro-acoustic, as well as her TechnoTurka productions, Ipek will be putting on a unique sound mix for the Morgenland Festival: Psychedelic Turkish Funk meets disco, Çiftetelli meets house, Kurdish Halay meets electro, Anatolian folk songs meet techno. Euphoric encounters on the dance floor are guaranteed. In all of her work, the artist with Turkish roots relies on cultural and gender diversity. It was this special mix, as well as her activism, which won her the award by the Berlin city magazine Zitty as one of "the most important cultural personalities of the capital".
